RuleForge ("we," "our," or "us") operates ruleforge.uk and its family of tool sites: calcly.ruleforge.uk, vital.ruleforge.uk, shield.ruleforge.uk, forge.ruleforge.uk, solar.ruleforge.uk, and quotes.ruleforge.uk (collectively, the "Service").

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. All tools on our sites run entirely in your browser — no calculations are sent to any server.

2. Information We Collect

Email address: If you subscribe to our newsletter or email list via the signup forms on our sites, we collect your email address and the source page you subscribed from. This is stored in our secure database.

Lead form data: On quotes.ruleforge.uk, if you submit a mortgage inquiry form, we collect the information you provide (name, contact details, property and loan details) to connect you with a broker.

What we do NOT collect: We do not use analytics tracking (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.). We do not collect your IP address for tracking. All calculator inputs, tool data, and results are processed locally in your browser and never transmitted to us.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Newsletter subscribers: To send you finance, career, and productivity tips, product announcements, and occasional offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
• Mortgage inquiries: To connect you with an FCA-regulated mortgage broker who can assist with your enquiry.
• Service improvement: To respond to your support requests and improve our content and tools.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our sites. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other websites.

5. Payments (Gumroad)

All purchases of our digital products are processed through Gumroad. We do not directly collect, store, or process any payment card information.

When you make a purchase, Gumroad handles the transaction and may collect your name, email, billing address, and payment details. This data is governed by Gumroad's Privacy Policy.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

Our own tools use browser local storage to remember your inputs and preferences (e.g., saved calculations, dark mode settings). This data never leaves your device and is cleared when you clear your browser data.

The only cookies set on our sites are from Google AdSense (see Section 4 above). We do not set our own tracking cookies.

7. Third-Party Services

• Cloudflare — Web hosting and CDN (processes IP addresses for security and performance; see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy)

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other behavioral tracking platform.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure database storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain email subscriber data until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Lead form data is retained for 12 months or until the inquiry is resolved, whichever is longer. You may request deletion at any time.
